"More rice please"

It's not uncommon to hear those words from Bart. He has a VERY healthy appetite.

But when Lisa said those words at the dinner table tonight, we were pleasantly surprised.
It was the first time that she has ever asked for a second helping.

She hasn't been eating well lately. Even at breakfast, she eats around the sultanas in her bowl of Sultana Bran. And veges are still an issue. Last night we added snow peas and celery to the list of blacklisted greens. Even when they are well concealed within a spoonful of rice, Lisa still manages to identify and eject even the smallest pieces.
So it was a double surprise tonight when she asked for more rice AND more spinach. Woohoo! My daughter's not a meatetarian!

Marge is convinced that Lisa has just finished teething again.
That would explain the acts of terror that she's inflicted recently.
But over the last few days she has been happier, and has been sleeping better.
Hopefully this means that our angel is back!

  • Bart, Lisa and Maggie from the Simpson's family? Wow Homer, are those really the names of your kids? Or names you conjured up to protect their anonymity?

I've two boys of my own too. The eldest is already 13 years old and junior is 7 going on 8. You sure sound like a terrific dad homer. Why, you even included a clip of your little girl in one of you posts. Have fun with them. These are their formative years.

  • Hi chris,

    Thanks for dropping by.

I must confess - those names are just to protect the innocent. The Simpsons just happen to share the same family configuration. :)

Yeah, I try to be terrific, but sometimes come across as terrorfic.
Gotta keep telling myself to enjoy the journey. They won't be kids forever.

    Thanks for the reminder.
